Grimm Tales

The Brothers Grimm

Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm collected the old German folk and fairy tales — Hansel and Gretel, Rumpelstiltskin, Snow White and many more. The stories follow familiar conventions of magic, danger, transformation, and justice.

Activity Ideas

Choose a genre, such as horror, adventure, fairy tale, mystery, or quest.
List its common conventions, then write a short opening that uses at least three of them.
